New Look has changed its mind over closing it’s Reading store and is one of three retailers to sign new deals at the Broad Street Mall.
The fashion store has renewed its existing lease on an 11,000 sq ft unit next to the former Argos store and is to bring its menswear section, currently in The Oracle, into its Broad Street Mall shop.
Iceland is moving to a new 9,000 sq ft store which will take up most of the ground floor of the former Argos, which Moorgarth has split to create a mixed use area on what will become a prominent corner.
And Poundland will relocate from its shop next to South Court to a newly-created 8,500 sq ft unit incorporating the former Poundworld store and an adjoining unit fronting Oxford Road.
All the retailers have signed 10-year leases.
Moorgarth Group’s managing director Gary Lewis said: “This series of deals is testament to the appeal of Broad Street Mall and demonstrates that Moorgarth’s strategy of modernisation and broadening of the offers on site is attracting considerable attention.
“We look forward to welcoming more new arrivals to the centre soon.”
Letting agents are Hicks Baker and Knight Frank.
